Refund Policy

Last Updated: April 26, 2026

1. Digital Nature of Service

Afterlife provides digital services involving automated infrastructure and high-security encryption. Because our service begins immediately upon the creation or "Sealing" of a message, our refund policy is designed to reflect these operational costs.

2. Eligibility for Refunds

We want you to be satisfied with Afterlife. You are eligible to request a full refund under the following conditions:

  • 7-Day Window: You may request a refund within 7 days of your initial purchase, provided that you have not yet "Sealed" a message or utilized the core delivery mechanism.
  • Technical Failure: If a confirmed technical bug on our platform prevents you from using the service (e.g., failure to encrypt or set up a switch), you are eligible for a full refund regardless of the 7-day window.

3. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds will generally not be issued in the following cases:

  • Sealed Messages: Once a message has been "Sealed" and secured in our vault, the service is considered partially rendered, and refunds are no longer available.
  • User Negligence: Forgetting to "check-in," losing your account access, or providing incorrect witness email addresses does not qualify for a refund.
  • Change of Mind: After the 7-day eligibility window has passed.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us at support@afterlife-legacy.com with the following information:

  • The email address associated with your Afterlife account.
  • Your LemonSqueezy order number or receipt.
  • A brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund (this helps us improve the service).

5. Processing Refunds

Once your request is received and approved, your refund will be processed through LemonSqueezy, our Merchant of Record. The funds will be credited back to your original payment method. Please note that it may take 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your bank statement.

6. Abuse of Policy

We reserve the right to refuse refunds to users who act in bad faith or attempt to abuse the refund system (e.g., repeatedly purchasing and requesting refunds).
